Kati Meyer-Brühl receives the GOOD DESIGN Award 2011 for "easy pieces"

Just before the end of 2011, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, renowned all over the world, conferred the GOOD DESIGN Award 2011 on Kati Meyer-Brühl for her light-footed easy pieces creation. This was the young designer's sixth design price of the year.

Embodying the "urban meets rural" concept, easy pieces stands out for its geometric linearity whilst, at the same time, affording easy and long-lasting comfort. A skilfully crafted frame of solid wood envelopes loose cushion elements with colour-coordinated fronts that can be changed by turning any which way. In this way, ever new colour interplays or moods can be created or interesting haptic contrasts can be formed when fabric and leather alternate. easy pieces comes as chairs, sofas and recamieres. An outdoor version is also available to augment the many different models for interiors.

Several thousand designs were submitted, worldwide, for the GOOD DESIGN Award 2011. The winners will be included in the 2011-2012 GOOD DESIGN Year Book.
